MinneSNOWta

This is like a rambling rant...but in my OOTD post I said that i wasn't gonna wear my leather jacket cuz of the cold/snow...turns out ALL of it melted!

Can you believe that, this place is so...I don't even know. If I hadn't seen snow on some cars I wouldn't have believed people that said it had snowed. Lets not forget the fact that it's the MIDDLE OF APRIL. I guess global warming isn't taking a back seat this year.

shop-a-HAUL-ic [2]

New name for my haul posts...

So I know said I would do a haul a couple posts back, and clearly that didn't happen but I've finally gotten free time to get around to it.

I've decided that the whole process was kind of time consuming so I'm gonna change the format. I'll turn it into a vlog [video blog]. That way I don't have to worry about taking pictures and all that other stuff.

Here's a shot of the dress I mentioned, the "sparkly" one, it's from Express and actually sequenced.

Hope you enjoyed the post and haul

Watch Out Cuz Here I Come!

I'm a Jack-of-all-Trades. I cook, bake, sew, design, paint & draw, do makeup and make jewelry, just to name a few things. Don't mind my modesty, LOL but seriously, one of the organizations I'm involved in on campus just recently had an event and I made a "traditional-ish" dress for it. I think it turned out FABULOUS!

My wig goes nicely with this dress doesn't it!
This is the second dress that I've made. Talk about resourceful, the first one I made because I had taken material to a designer to make me a dress [with full color sketches of what I wanted] and when I picked it up it was NOTHING like the pictures I had drawn. I was FURIOUS! So I tried desperately to get it fixed by another dressmaker, but no such luck.

Guess what I did then... I bought a sewing machine from Walmart and spent all night [the night before the event] and made the dress. It turned out pretty good.

Can't really see it, but the skirt is made of layers.
After this first dress I became motivated to make more, I went through my mom's storage of fabrics and took some of her patterns. All with the intention to make amazing clothes...from the looks for things I've been too busy with school to find time for that. Maybe this summer and post grad year...

We'll see what the future holds.
