I dont know if anyone was aware (or cares) but apparently Solonge is no longer representing Carol's Daughter...read more here (via Confessions of a Blog Vixen) & here (via BGLH).

Here's an exurpt from an interview she did with Lurve Magazine.
On so much attention being focused on her Hair
I’m actually really trying to navigate my feelings on the entire hair issue and it’s tough doing that publicly.  On one hand, I can’t ignore the fact that I have done things that have put attention on my hair with going on Oprah and being apart of Carol’s Daughter.
I was asked to go on Oprah on an episode that was dedicated to Black Hair, and to speak about why I cut my hair. I honestly thought, “Number one, it’s Oprah, and who wouldn’t want to go on Oprah and meet her?!?!  She’s amazing! But also, I thought if I addressed it then, then maybe I wouldn’t have to on that level again.
I spoke about how I felt like my hair was holding me back in some ways from fully utilizing my life, in terms of the time, energy and money I was spending. I also remember very clearly saying that this was the phase I am in at the time and that if I wanted to wear a weave down to my calves–when and if that time came–I very much so would. I still feel that way now. I realize for some people that this was a big turning point in terms of how they saw me.
I’m actually no longer a part of Carol’s Daughter, but throughout my entire time working with them, I was constantly fighting for the right message to be heard. The message that, the way we wear our hair is a personal choice, there’s no right or wrong way; one way doesn’t make us more intelligent, or more superficial, and every one makes that choice for very different reasons.

On the time she vented on twitter after reading an article about her hair:
I made some comments on Twitter recently about an article someone sent me that a young writer wrote about how much energy we are putting into other people’s natural hair. I thought it was really interesting, and in a lot of ways true.  That is until I came across the part of the article that mentioned how certain commenters were debating on the texture of my hair in its natural state.
I really, truly was not even aware that there was a natural hair system in place to measure the texture of your hair.  At that point I thought to myself, “This is really kind of crazy…that these people know more about my hair than the human that even carries it!”  I went to my Twitter and sort of impulsively expressed that. I don’t regret it one bit but sometimes trying to put how you feel in an one-hundred forty character structure is not very successful. It sometimes comes off as ranty and aggressive, and that was not my stance at all.

That's all folks. MUAH

Trend Watch: OXBLOOD

Oxblood Red...oozing down the runway.

I've always loved burgundy, so rich and vibrant. My feelings towards Oxblood red are no different.
Check out this new trend for the fall. Wear out and rock it or just ogle it on screen.

Kinda brings out the vampire in me.

Two words ...well a name and a title, but Denzel Washington and GQ!

MMM. That's all I have to say.

On another note these shoes are totally gorgeous. I'm not normally a fan of the ankle strap, I never felt it was enough support, but the colors and pattern made me overlook that issue.

Love the plunging neckline of the dress on the right.

The neckline of the dress is very interesting. Love.

It's Fine, Really

Came across a positive spin on having fine hair. And though it didn't really help or improve my feelings on having such fine hair I thought I'd share it. There's nothing I'd like more than to have fuller hair and thicker strands but c'est la vie. Hope this helps someone out there.

7 Advantages of Fine Natural Hair

Fine hair almost always gets a bad rap. We’re all familiar with its downsides — scalpy twists, fros that flop and susceptibility to breakage — but we don’t always discuss the benefits of having fine natural hair. Here are 7 unique advantages of fine natural hair. For the purposes of this article, fine hair refers to thin strand and low density hair.
1. Less Products
With fine hair, a dime-sized amount of product goes a very, very long way! Thicker haired naturals require more product to coat and seal their strands, plus they often require heavier products — like shea-based butters and creams — that tend to be more expensive. Many fine haired naturals can skip heavy butters and seal with lighter, cheaper products like coconut oil or aloe gel.
2. Easier and Faster Hair Straightening
While coarse strands and thick hair take more coaxing to loosen their curl pattern, fine hair tends to take to heat more easily and requires less of it to straighten out. On the flip side, you have to be careful not to burn fine strands. Keep your blowdryer at medium to low temperatures, and don’t keep the flat iron on for long!
3. Easier Bunning
Thick hair can look a bit bulky when pulled into a bun or a single braid and can put a strain on hair ties and bobby pins. Fine hair is easier to pull into one, and can look a bit more effortless
4. Hot Weather Friendly
There’s nothing hotter in the summer time than a mass of thick, heavy strands. The “scalpiness” of fine haired styles is actually a plus in the summer time, providing a way for heat to escape the body.

5. Shorter wash day
While thicker haired naturals have to divide their strands into several sections and cleanse and condition each one individually, fine haired naturals can get away with fewer section and, in some cases, not sectioning at all. Plus, fine haired section take less time to work through and air dry much faster.
6. Easier Detangling
When you have less strands to detangle, the process is much quicker. Plus, fine haired naturals can get away with finger detangling only, while many thicker haired naturals must also incorporate hair tools like Denman brushes and wide toothed combs.
7. Faster Styling
When there’s less hair to get through, styling tends to go faster. On fine hair a set of twists or box braids can take less than 2 hours, while thick hair styling often take 4 hours of more. Plus, thick hair can be a downside at the salon, with many stylists charging extra cash for clients with a lot of hair to get through.

Fine haired ladies, tell us, what are the benefits of your hair type?

Eye Do Too

It's nights like these that I wish I made YouTube videos (makeup tutorials). BUT since I don't I'll just watch a couple (...hundred, literally).

I really want to try BLUE lipstick...or some other random/"crazy" color. But I'm the proverbial "all dressed up and no where to do go" girl. So that probably won't happen anytime soon.

In the mean time check out these lovely ladies and their looks.

Tymetheinfamus- HIGHLY REQUESTED Rainbow Makeup Tutorial w Half Lashes!

Lilpumpkinpie05- Galaxy Eyes

Liquidlinerlover- Makeup Tutorial: Autumn Fairy

Destinygodley- 3D #Ombre Blush + 80's Inspired Eyes inspired by @Pixiwoos

Ok that's all for now. If I find all the videos for you it takes away the fun of wasting time on YouTube, plus I have more videos to watch.

Enjoy.
